Background

The second annual California Ag Summit offers sponsors, attendees and presenters a rare opportunity to:

The second Summit will shine a positive light on the importance of agriculture in California and discuss key issues facing producers and affiliated agricultural companies and organizations.

Speakers will present thought-provoking ideas and practical innovations that producers can use in their own operations. Each year, the Summit's topics will keep pace with the many forces affecting California agriculture.

We hope to attract 300+ individuals to the second annual Summit. The event will be funded primarily with cash contributions from corporate sponsors who recognize that the Summit offers targeted marketing, branding and relationship-building opportunities in a friendly, thoughtful setting. Funds will also be generated from attendee registration fees.

The information and ideas presented will be pertinent to not only California—from Burney to Brawley, from Salinas to Sonora—but also to the global agricultural industry.

The Organizing Committee—and Giving Back to Ag

The California Ag Summit organizing committee has drawn upon the vast experience of its committee members and their organizations, as well as from the best practices of ag summits in other parts of the country.

Our committee includes industry and corporate professionals from a wide variety of high-profile organizations involved in California agriculture. Among the original organizing committee are representatives from the following organizations: Ag-Seeds Unlimited, CA Cattlemen’s Association, CA Farm Bureau Federation, CA Agricultural Leadership Foundation, CA Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom, Monsanto, Moss Adams, Pacific Coast Producers, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Simplot Growers Solutions, Union Bank, N.A., Van Ruiten Law Corporation, Wilbur-Ellis Company, and Yara North America. As additional sponsors come on board, representatives from those organizations will be welcomed and encouraged to join the organizing committee.

One of the goals established by the California Ag Summit organizing committee is to create an annual financial gift program designed to help support education and leadership among the agriculture industry's future leaders. The goal for our first year is to donate all net proceeds to the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.

The Topics

The committee has developed an outline of the core presentation topics for the event, which include:
